Hi guys, sorry for non-coupe related question but thought you may be able to help...

I'm going to change the front discs and pads on my wife's modus (1.4 16v dynamique)on the weekend and just wanted to check first that it is as straightforward as I think...

Loosen wheel bolts, jack car up, wheels off, remove one bolt on calliper and twist out of the way, remove pads, remove disc locating screws, remove disc, then clean and grease sliders as necessary, then push piston back into calliper by hand being careful not to damage the seals, fit new disc and the rest in reverse order?

Is there anything I should be aware of?

Forever grateful

Emerson

Don't forget to remove the brake fluid reservoir lid and check the level is not too high, if necessary remove some fluid before you start. (Use a poultry baster).

Also grease the pads in the appropriate areas before fitting, Mintex Ceratec is better than Copperslip. It's worth removing the disc securing bolt before removing the pads. Some caliper bolts need thread lock, sometimes new ones come with the pads. Grease the disc securing bolts too.

Clean the hub before fitting the new discs with emery cloth.

Use a G clamp and an old pad to push the piston back into the caliper. You could do it by hand in theory, depends on how strong you are.
