What radio would a 1997 20VT have come with and any ideas where one might get one?

Mine has been fitted with some silver aftermarket c**p at some stage.

Not 100%, but pretty sure they came with a clarion, although not sure of the model, I just know they have a little fiat logo on the face, I've got one at home thats a bit "temperamental", I think the contact between the face and head unit have started to go, you have to push it to get the buttons to work, but plays music fine, and has the remote. If you think you can get it repaired or fix it yourself it's yours smile

Other than that, you could try eBay or stick a post up in the coupe parts wanted section..

Neither of which are particularly great sonically compared with more recent decks.

If you're looking for originality then go for it but if you're looking for an overall improvement, look for a used item from the likes of Alpine, Pioneer etc. cool

And don't even get me started on the standard speakers. shocked

I've the paired cassette/radio HU and remote CD disk changer from (I believe) Tom Snelling's old "N" reg. 16VT donor for his Punto GT. Those are a Clarion TDM-7574R and a CHM-5620.

Not that I want to sell them, it's too hard to find cassette player HUs these days. wink

f1ANG - thanks for the offer - very kind. truth is I'm not sure what I want to chnage to. The existing stereo is a Kenwood - sounds good but looks awful and has too many tiny buttons. Also keeps auto searching which I cant seem to stop - apin in the b*m.

Get a basic alpine with Red illumination. They spund great, have good button layout and the red is a good match for the orange lighting.
