You may have seen in the news reports of EU proposals to prevent modification of vehicles and failure of MOT for modified vehicles.

The proposals aren't detailed, but classic car exemption from MOT is being pitched at pre- 1960 by the UK government under separate proposals.

In other words if things go through unchallenged, we could all be in a world of pain frown

I intend to write to my MP stating that these EU proposals are not acceptable, that the impact on our economy would be enormous and that any government implementing these proposals would make themselves unelectable.

We need to register a clear protest now before its too late.

Hope you all do something similar

From a quick read of the .gov.uk site's info. anything over 10 years old won't be subject to the new EU rules, AFAICS.

I think this is inevitable as we're the one of the only countries in Europe not to comply.

A risk you take Im afraid.
There may be a way around it but not as far as the law is concerned.

A bit like yourself Steve.
A thing like you roaming the streets of birmingham at nights doesn't make it right and it's only a matter of time before the police catch up with you. laugh

Thank fccuk for that !
track car would be only way to have Mods ,on road cars may only get away with massive turbo and chip any police would need evidence to prove you'ev got mods.
I ev been pulled and reported on 2seperate occasions for not telling my insurance company for mods like wheels , window tints (on rear), exhaust , air filter, strut brace,. But they could not prove that my car did nt come out the factory like it. So no crime.
