Okay, some of you may have seen that I managed to break my sunroof and that I've tried to replace it. what you may not know is that I gave up after first ordering the wrong sunroof then getting one that was broken.
Disheartened and more than a bit miffed, I 'fixed' the problem... by FIXING the sunroof... literally!
- I removed the rubber from around the glass
- I forced the glass to shut
- I then filled the void with a tube of kitchen and bathroom sealent
- And finished it off with polyeuethene windscreen adhesive
Removed the motor so that it doesn't try to open and even removed the inside screen that opens and closes to keep the sun out. I've probably massivly devalued the car but it works perfectly, it only has to sit there now and keep the rain out and let the sun in!
Benefits include:
1/ Doesn't whissle at any speed
2/ doesn't rattle at any speed
3/ doesn't grow mould on the roof
4/ is never going to let any water into the car to rust it
