Not sure if this has been covered previously, now the nights are getting darker the boot light is not really bright so I bought a 60cm white sticky back led strip fixed it adjacent to existing light on metal part and wired it to the existing light, it really brightens the boot area

i do it the same ,very useful, the connection is easy
with the on/off button wired to the oem light
