I've spotted a car that I might be interested in using as a restoration project, the problem is that it's the wrong colour. I would be doing a full engine out respray even if I did find the right colour. So I was wondering if changing the colour is it a pain when it comes to the V5?

Also if I did change the colour of the car and informed the DVLA, who change the V5 to suit, would the change of colour be classed as a mod in the eyes of the insurance companies?

Cheers,
Chris.

As far as the DVLA is concerned, simply fill in the applicable bit, section 7, on the V5C, and send it off to them.

Individual insurers seem to have their own rules as to what constitutes a mod.

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
I even unplugged my own.
