Following on from AndrewR's thread, looking for some advice.

1. Where is the best place to buy a wall bracket for a 42" tv? Is there different quality's and specs that allow tilting etc?
2. Currently have a cheap surround sound system which sits within glass unit opposite our couch. As there is visible floor space between the tv and the couch thinking about wireless rear speakers and mounting the fronts on the wall/ceiling? What cheapish wireless system would you recommend?
3. Should I go to all this effort, if I'm maybe only going to get 1-2 more years from my tv? The only thing I can see is that I'd need to change the wall bracket maybe, but the wiring is all going through the wall into the cupboard and back into each device.

Cheers

Ross

You can get wall brackets from Amazon...just don't get the same as stan bought! (see his TV thread).

Just reviving this one for advice - I've come to the conclusion that my 42" LG TV' sound is not good enough. I know the factory speaker output capability suffer due to the flatness. I'm no gadget man but want to add some speakers without spending a fortune. Anyone reccomend anything that I can just plug in via the Headphone jack?

TV speakers rarely are any good, you may be able to get away with a "sound bar" but if you want proper sound then you need a proper amplifier and proper speakers. What else have you got in your home entertainment system? Sky box? Freeview box? PVR? Asmplifier? Receiver?

How large is the fortune that you have? £100? £200 £500?

Have you looked at Richer Sounds?

Just as examples, iPod/PC external speakers abound:

This Altec Lansing system might suit your needs, space etc. permitting:

As said though, these are merely examples.

Well for a while I had my PC speakers plugged into the headphone jack and it was pretty good! The PC speakers were pretty old Altec Lansing jobbies I got with a Dell PC 10+ years ago, but crucially they were 2 speakers and a sub and it sounded much better (and louder) than the LCD TV speakers.
