Morning boys and girls of the Coupe fraternity!

im Rich, and i usually hang out in the Stilo section of Fiat Forum but it would seem that i have just put down a deposit on an S Reg 20v in that girly metalic grey/blue/purple colour for the wifes enjoyment. <60k miles, almost perfect interior, good strong engine, full MOT, 6 months tax, no scrapes knocks or rattles found on an extensive test drive, oil presure is good... i think ive got a good un but only time will tell!

i guess this means im one of you lot now, huh?

2 fiats i MUST be a sucker for punishment... a bit like that wholesome girl from that book the wife has been reading!

anyway bye im off to sort my profile out just thought id say hello!

Hi Rich, and welcome to the forum. I too have a portofino like yours, even the though the wife insists on referring to it as purple or even lilac when she's really trying to hurt! Plenty of info in here to keep you on the road, and easily the most friendly forum I have ever used..

wave

cheers guys... ive found the fix for the dash buttons falling out so youve already been helpful! i dont pick the beast up till friday/saturday next week but the first thing thats going in is a HU. not any kind of awesome ice setup just an entry level sony. I'm of the persuasion of keeping cars standard with a few 'tidy' or 'subtle' mods i hate the garish balls to the wall jap kits on euro cars and massive ICE. so this is one motor you will be seeing as standard as i can keep it. and dont worry i wont be asking silly questions like 'can i put an alfa V6 engine in easily' or 'what do you think about these they're 50p off ebay and say i can get 20BHP more'. im a mechanic by trade and love fiats i hate seeing them destroyed and unloved. the wife will only be doing arond 6k a year in her but it will be her daily driver aswell as our 'weekend car'

.... as well as meeting Proccy shocked

Best £15 you'll ever spend. Welcome, and you are within reach of 2 brilliant Coupe specialists if you have any problems (which you won't because these cars are so solid),

Good luck,
Tim

By the way, an Alfa V6 would be a serious downgrade, as well as using more litres of Shell's finest.

Also Portofino = murple rolleyes ; very pink in the wrong/right light........

Welcome and enjoy your Coupe!

Ditching the standard headunit for something modern results in much improved sound quality. Personally I've changed the entire sound system in my Coupe, but the only way you could tell is by the two amps pinned to the metal behind rear seats and the alpine headunit.

There are details of the club benefits on the forum, not least discount on insurance via Neil Willies and parts through Alternative Autos.

Picked it up today and conveniently got the FCCUK member pack through...

Replacement HU was the first thing to get dropped in.

The washers leave a little to be desired but shes been stood for a while so Ill give it a clean out and blow with an airline and she should be as good as new!

Mrs is really pleased with it and im happy because it seems like a really tidy motor!

The CHOD looks like a RIGHT bastard frown

Hello and welcome, the chod is a bit of a pain as are the heater matrix hoses. Well worth replacing or upgrading to silicone for peace of mind.

visited John at MCS today (see my post in his section). I couldnt be happier with the result... Took the coupe in for a once over only to find shes an absolute minter! A couple of minor bits to sort... Header tank cap, handbrake cables and slight play in a front wheel bearing. Along with the stuff i already knew about i.e. Strut top bearing and thermostat. so happy i didnt pick a lemon for the wife. EVERYTHING is still from factory apart from Drivers front brake line and probably the exhaust, tyres and pads. i think John was genuinely surprised by Its condition as was i so next year Ill be sorting it all along with a healthy coat of underseal which i may get done professionally this one is really worth going the extra mile for i feel. But first to sort my daily driver as Its shopping list has run into 400quid and countless hours of work!

Thanks for the feedback Rich. thumb
Take care of it as I don't see many like that these days.

Some checkovers have taken me 2 hours to list things down whereas you were in and out in ten minutes.
