No, I haven't done something daft like have a baby. I've gotten something far more rewarding - a 20VT! 'Bout time I started doing some serious work with the 20VT, so I've purchased a 'test mule' for long-term R&D, with the aim of developing new 20VT tuning products. Also handy for hauling engine parts too. No plans for any major projects yet - but then I didn't have plans for major projects with the 16VT either. That didn't last very long Fair condition bodywork ...Except for deer-shaped dent in bonnet Airbag warning light. It just wouldn't be a Coupe without at least one dash warning light!

You need to fail before you can succeed so beat my record of crucifying 2 engines. And don't worry I'm sure it won't be Long before tiny feet can be heard around the KJ household Joking aside good luck fella, you have the right attitude to become quite an asset.

Good luck with the project KJ Im just curious as to the code and the name under the bonnet? Mine and Coupedummys are called mical red 180\A. Yours looks to be the same. The last run of X1/9 Grand Finale's were Mica Red, maybe the same colour Looks very similar if not You need to fail before you can succeed so beat my record of crucifying 2 engines. Cough....AND Gearboxes... Cough

Only 11 gearboxes in 4 years of ownership. Bargain.
Averaged 1 gearbox every 500 miles.

Averaged 1 gearbox every 500 miles. I know people who dont wash their cars that often in 4 years! Not content with breaking just the one box eh?... Greedy sod! I hope you have left the odd one out there for me, I might need one soon! What are your long term plans for the car KJ?

Cheers all for the kind words Gunzi: I never was up on official Coupe colour names - TBH I only have a vague idea of what the 16VT colour is called I'll check the plate on the 20VT this weekend if I get the chance. JBT: lol, Don't worry, I won't be challenging you for the title of King 20VT just yet - mainly because I couldn't possibly afford to! Not unless I take up something more lucrative like pimping. Speaking of pimping; seeing that picture of you in your cowboy hat got me thinking, get yourself some chaps and I reckon you might have yourself a new profession in the, er, 'Specialist Gentlemen's market'! Regarding engine/gearbox wreckage; Over the years I have made quite a nice collection of wrecked pistons and head gaskets. Does that count? X-19: Hi. Besides of course mapping, I do have a couple of plans to use the car for developing tuning products in a similar vein to the ones I have available for the 16VT. ATM it's all dependant on parts availability. So with luck, more on that in the near future. Needless to say, my plans do involve more power!

The last run of X1/9 Grand Finale's were Mica Red, maybe the same colour Looks very similar if not Its not the same paint X19 ...... the Mica Red on the Gran Finale was a Bertone sprayed paint also used on the 780 Volvo Coupe
