Looking back at some of my early posts made me chuckle. Not that my latest's posts are of any better quality I thought it would be a fun idea for people to repost their first post on here, with a link to the thread and maybe a few lines telling the story thus far Obviously for some of you here before the "big crash" you will have to make do with your first posts on the "new" forum Use this format:First PostLink to ThreadA few lines elaborating if need beThose who don't know Click MY STUFF > POSTS and then go right to the last page

Good Morning All, Im wondering if anyone can help me. I have a Fiat Coupe 20v Non Turbo. I was wondering if anyone could give me some assistance with any possible tuning modifications i can make to it. Appart from an inductionkit and a cheap nasty 25+ chip of ebay. Ive spoken to some garagaes and they have told me to sell the car and purchase a turbo. Well im sure many of you are as attached to your cars as i am, and this is not a viable solution. I brought the car some time ago and have restored the bodywork and engine to its factory build. It looks fab now! Ive fallen in love with the car and would be devistated if i had to sell it.
What are my options?
Thankyou for your time
Mario http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=52527&Number=647529#Post647529Needless to say I ended up writing off my lovely NA by ramming it into the side of a bus.... ooops (buses fault of obviously) I then ended up getting my "turbo" / LE

I was concerned I may have been flashed at a camera in Southampton I have driven past 1000s of times I heard of the Forum from Woka, I really must introduce myself one day BTW Mario, seeing the piccie of the NA, perhaps it was fast enough?

Well belwo is my first post on these forums, which was the day it went live. No idea what my first post on the original forums was before it died.
"What oil to us? Someone had to ask it, and i am also being serious anyway. Mine has just about run out. What i was using was freebie from someone. Now i genuinly want to know what is the best oil to use in hot and cold weather. "

Have you tried to see if the front bumper will go over it without having to hack some bits away as this is my main concern about this modification!!!?? http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=182&Number=8134#Post8134Oldest I can find though I had my first Coupe from mid 2004. Had car a good year before I thought of doing silly tuning things to it(as above)! I think I joined pretty much a few days after I bought the car so first post lost also... (I assume forum crash/data loss is for threads pre-late 2005?) From memory my first post was a hello and a pic of a newly purchased and cleaned Coupe...

Yes, my first post was later than the stuff Kayjey managed to recover.

I think you meant "You're" and not Your .
Also I think Andrew means his first post was after the date of the stuff Kayjey recovered and not before (I could be wrong). My first post is lost in the gap between the recovered inforamtion and the start of these forums.

It would appear a significant number of my posts have disappeared. I was looking for the "Random Thread" I started in response to particularly zealous moderating of posts wandering off topic, but they've all gone. ( After this, ISTR ) By my reckoning a couple of thousand posts gone (based on 67 pages of 40 posts vs my current post count). While trawling through the posts there were some real names from the past, a lot of the old stagers have moved on/matured/died/gone senile/serving time.

I think that old threads in the "General chat" section are routinely deleted to avoid filling up the Internets with our off-topic waffle. Hence, I'm in the same position as you - my old posts run to 105 pages, but back-of-a-fag-packet maths suggests they should fill closer to 300 pages.

Found mine, over 10 years ago... Picked the coop up on tuesday, how good is this car??? anyway driving into Norwich this morning found a cliosport 172 at the old Hethel lights thought I could take it on, but when green came, a whole lot of nothing happened when I floored it. Is this overboost? Never owned a turbo car before. FYI, still made it alongside the clio before a traffic island made me chicken out, (one lane only! ) Gave me a wave though (good stuff) Way back whenSome sadly missed people, and some people still with us commenting on there I see

I am indeed new, so don't blame me for my ignorance/stupidity/incompetence. I promise to fight them all. Just wondering what the first thing to do is in order to boost performance of my standard 20VT. "First" = easiest, cheapest, etc. Cost and power benefit of recommended measures would be of interest too. Thanks. Sadly, since then I have lost the 'newness' excuse

This was mine: Hi, I've been lurking around this forum for a few weeks now and I thought I should introduce myself! I've come from having a S14a and wanted something different for my next car. I had a bit of a thing for the Coupe back when they were released and I'm now on the hunt for a 20VT. I've done a fair bit of background reading on these cars including studying the buyers guide. The FAQ is a brilliant section - I learnt a lot! This looks like a very informative forum Cheers Chris From this thread. I'm not entirely sure why I needed to edit it 1 minute after my first post but there you go. I'm proud to say that the first reply was a cheery "welcome and thanks for not being a chav" made by the gone but not forgotten Shabba.

Thank you, Coopists, for reminding me of the epic Coupe vs. The Oppressive Forces of Reality post. I've not laughed so hard in ages. For the uninitiated / initiated but forgetful / senile, here it is: AndrewR's Coupe vs The Oppressive Forces of Reality post
My first victim this morning was some tarted up Corsa, filled to the brim with teenagers, wearing their backwards baseball caps backwards so that the peaks were pointing forward. Glancing at my newly fitted Howhardaretheytryingometer I saw it had swung right up to 100%, or Noel Edmunds level of trying.
Naturally I dispensed with them in short order and with such ease that they'd been gone for more than 5 minutes before I noticed that I was still on my drive and hadn't even turn the ignition on.
Swinging on to the road, with the engine burbling nicely, I was immediately challenged by an oncoming furniture lorry, its horn beeping in a testosterone challenge to the superiority of my Italian supercar.
I have to admit it was tight until I realised that I was hitting the red-line because I was in neutral and not because I was really, really going for it. That also explained why the lorry was vanishing and why my dog was OK with it's front paws on my drivers window. Turns out it can't run at 150mph on its hind legs after all.
Upwards and onwards. My journey to work is around 25 miles and normally takes me around 8 minutes, but I am helped by having removed all surplace items from my interior, glove box and boot, using hydrogen to fill my tyres, always having a dump before I leave the house and leaving a suit at work so that I can drive there naked.
Thanks to these high performance measures I was able to leave a trail of Scooby-Doos, EVO IXs, Aston Martins and Saxos shuddering in my wake, many of them wearing expressions indicating that they obviously thought my car was a Ferrari of some kind, or maybe some sort of ultra-Lamborghini.
The only real challenge I faced was on a fast section of twisties where I suddenly realised that somebody was trying to overtake me. Glancing across I saw a one of them brand new Swedish supercars that holds the lap-record on Top Gear ... and it was being driven by Nigel Mansell ... and it had a big sign on the side reading, "Powered by NOx".
So it really gave me a hard time until I got up to third, at 150, and then I managed to pull 70 or 80 car lengths ahead, but using binoculars I could see that Nigel waw giving me the thumbs up. Nice bloke, shame he can't drive for toffee.
I was about to back off a bit, but then I realised that the light behind me was trying it on. Now I've no objection to people driving quickly, but this light was, literally, going as fast as it's physically possibly to go ... and in a 40 limit!
There's no way I could observe that sort of behaviour without showing the wave/particle radiation just what an idiot it was being, by driving even faster.
I'm happy to admit that it wasn't easy to lose it, especially when I had to write a 600-page physics article proving special relativity wrong and, thus, allowing me to accelerate beyond 186,000 miles per second, but thanks to the Coop's brilliant 4th gear I was able to manage it and that light looked pretty stupid.
At least it would have looked pretty stupid if I could have seen it. Which I couldn't. Because I was going faster, like.
When I finally got to work I was delighted to see they'd arranged a ticker-tape parade for me and the coop and journalists from all of the motoring magazines were writing articles explaining why the coop was the greatest car ever in the entire history of cars and how there'd never be a car better, ever.
So, pretty good morning, really, but looking out of the window there are some tachyons in McDonald's car-park, over the road, acting pretty cocky.
Looks like I'll have to learn their theoretical asses a lesson. We love you, AndrewR!

Here Guess I should of made a post of Hi, new here etc etc rather than just joining in and getting a shitty reply even though I searched. Reading, same car or make and it ends there.
