Have you tried other race pads you can compare the OMP ones to? It would be great to know your thoughts.

Really? Better from cold than DS2500? I thought that 971C are race pads only not suitable for road use. Are you sure you're not mistaken them for the road and sport OMP also offers?

In what conditions did you use the 971C - road only or track too?

My thoughts on these pads after completed track dat at Snetterton - wow, very strong stopping power offering head on the windscreen experience. The more heat one generates the more stopping power these pads offer. They are fairly consistent pads.

They are very good from cold definitely better than ds2500 I had on my 20vt and better than ebc ndx blue stuff I used on my 16vt. Again better stopping power than ebc blue on my 16vt but then 16vts got smaller brake setup.

They didn't squeal until very hard braking. However, the do generate a lot of dust and after some 40-50 laps they were completely gone. Maybe it's due to the fact I used them with mtec drilled and grooved discs or maybe it's due to my on track driving style when I hit the brakes the very last moment. To be fair I really gave them run for the money as my callipers turned from silver to brown colour smile

Anyway, they are very cheap at under £90 off ebay but their life span isn't long...

By the way, my longest sessions was about 30 minutes and no fade at all. laugh
