Admiral aka Elephant - never one to miss a trick.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-20328860

Drivers who attend a speed awareness course may now be in line to see their insurance premiums increase.

.Admiral is treating it as if it were a conviction, even though the police do not on the basis that those who attend pose a higher risk.

The Association of Chief Police Officers say Admiral's stance could harm efforts to improve road safety.

So according to Admiral, the course has no positive effect on driving habits?

What has had a positive effect on the errors of my driving or more to the point frightening me is watching YouTube clips of crashes.
I did view ogrish before it got taken down. That was a reality grounding. Yes that's me in the slow lane.

I don't think it has anything to do with Admiral thinking the course doesn't change driving habits, much more it is something to do with making money.

I am currently insured with Admiral and have found out that you do only know how good an insurance company are when you have to make a claim. I won't be using them again, and this news about them punishing those who have had a speed awareness course just confirms that further even though I haven't been on one or got any points on my licence at the moment.

Admiral were the company who informed me that they would not accept a strut brace being fitted as it would make the car "more attractive to thieves" and also that fitting a brand new Fiat factory engine was a modification so the premimum would have to increase.

They are idiots who don't deserve our money.

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

good idea

why should those fortunate enough to be sent on a speed awareness course avoid the stiff increase in premium

they speeded and got caught so should have to pay like everybody else.

I remember looking at that site, but had forgotten about it shocked

Reminds me of why I should stay in the slow lane now and again.

More viewings of stuff like that would help people slow down, while the memory of what they've seen stays with them anyway.

As I haven't been convicted of anything I'm wondering how they'd know if I'd been on such a course and I was the kind of person who forgot about taking it?

The fact of your attendance is no doubt noted somewhere.

You'll be asked to disclose if you have ever done one. If you make a claim, they will check (everything) and when they see you failed to declare it, the computer will say "no" to your claim. "Simples", as those cynical marketing vermin say.
