I'm looking for some H1 bulbs for main beam to match my HIDs, has anyone tried and tested any? Halfords have a two fer deal on their ultra bright, has anyone tried them? I don't want to waste any more money on bulbs that don't do what they say on the tin!

Osram Nightbreakers are pretty good, although they look a little yellow compared to the HIDs. My Sprinty has double HIDs - astonishingly bright round the country lanes

I've got nightbreakers (a bit yellow) and I don't want HIDs on the main as I like to give people a quick flash sometimes....wah hey! There must be something out there?!

How do you know what is "digital" HID and what isn't?

Ok I get that, but in terms of how quick they get to full brightness from cold, I couldn't see much difference?

I just bought a new analogue ballast from China for £10 to replace one I got from TurboRevs (not buying there again) but presumably I could have got a new-fangled digitial one instead?
Edit: Thinking more about this, isn't it just that my old HID bulbs are slow to start up? Looking at the video both ballasts seemed to fire up just as bright at the start, the benefit is just steadier current (and size)?
