Did the big red bearded one bring you gifts of luxury and pleasure or just another pair of socks?
Display your wares and share your delight or disappointment here.

I'm about to have breakfast then start the opening presents fun.

We have a secret Santa system, where each of us has £20 to spend on the person they draw, at least half of which must be spent in Charity Shops (of which there are a zillion in Cambridge).
I drew my father in law and got him a 5-volume McCaulays History of England; a bargain from Oxfam.
I got a mad three-cornered Santa hat and a bizarre book on F1 designed to look like a wheel.

Mine is still in wraps - it is a truncated pyramid standing about 1 metre high in the living room. I'm told it isn't a machine, so what the hell is it??

Any guesses?

Nope - so far I've whittled it down to an electrical appliance which illuminates, but doesn't depend on thermals, so I guess some kind of lamp.

It's got to be pretty cold if your electric devices are wearing thermals!

I picked some up the other day to try - about 50p for 200g and I must say, they are the best salted peanuts I've ever had, they're lovely cool
