Alright everyone. I'm hoping to arrange a meet anywhere in Wales? Ideas, locations, dates and most of all Coupes.

There has been many successful meets in the past in Wales and hope we can keep up the coupe numbers in Wales.

Open to suggestion so please show an interest and any ideas ect.

Time, location and weather dependant I may well be up for this. I do have some work to do to get my coupe back on the road and in fine fettle, but once this is done I'm keen to get to some meets.

It's a bit of a treck from here, but I reckon it could be worth it. I don't know very much about the area, so will not try to suggest any locations/routes, but I gather there are some very nice roads in the area (Brecons, etc), which are not far over 'the bridge' for those potentially coming in from outside the area.

I'll keep an eye on this thread. Nice one Craig! smile

I'd be up for a jaunt over the bridge. Maybe a few other Bristol based coopists will too.

Hmm, with a clever bit of timing I could pick my car up from you Joe, with a nice new clutch and head on to this meet. Doubt it would work out, but it's a thought at least. smile

Count me in as long as it's not for a month or so as my car is not quite finished.

Maybe meet near Cardiff and head up to Brecon or Abergavenny for lunch.....Some lovely roads around there. Sometimes the sheep line the verges like spectators on an 80's rally stage laugh

I think this would be a good idea, what about the evo triangle or the Dams, these would look good as coupe photos

Count me in too please smile

Suggestion for a venue to meet! How about the Lamb and Flag pub just outside Abergavenny. Nice big car park and the food is supposed to be good too:

Lamb & Flag, Llanwenarth, Abergavenny, Gwent. NP7 7EW

http://www.lambflag.co.uk/contact-us

We could carry on up to the Brecon Beacons afterwards for a spin smile

I can just imagine the baa...d conversation laugh

Might be up for this; my road trip last autumn up in the Brecons was lovely, and there were some spectacular driving roads. Not ideal for speeding though as domestic creatures tend to be in the middle of the road just around the next corner (Porky's family??) wink

So am I smile

I am flexible on dates and venue. Having said that, I do think Brecon would be a good choice. Lovely roads from all directions, and plenty of car parks / pubs to meet up.

And there would be the novelty value of driving slowly through the small town centre in convoy laugh

For me it depends whether I've have got around to having a new clutch fitted and a slight smoking issue (the coupe, not me) diagnosed and sorted.

If that has been done, then I'd certainly be up for making the trip over the bridge. Brecon and the surrounding area sounds good.

I was going to suggest april 20th/21st...
Purely because it gives plenty of time for people to sort their cars(myself included) and loads of time to see if they can 'fit it in'/arrange cover for work etc etc.
Above all else...the weather should be looking up by then, and we need as much help with that as possible in wales tongue
This an option?

Personally, later in the spring would be better. Gives me a fighting chance of getting the essential work done on the car. Also, maybe some better weather - although obviously no guarantee! wobble

If some of you guys do go on a March run, you could treat it as a reccie and suss out the best roads for another jolly later in the year, when slackers like myself can join in! tongue

Hi Dave. Is your beast back from it's little stay with Leighton then? Is it what you hoped for and more? driving

PS - any other coopsters from down this neck of the woods want to make a mini convoy over?

Not quite Pete. Leighton is running the new engine in ahead of getting the mapping sorted. After that he is a few cosmetic jobs left on the list.

We are nearly there though and I am looking forward to driving the finished article laugh
