rrrrRRRRR P-TSH! rrrrrrRRRRR P-TSH!. Yes, I know they are hardly the coolest things on the block, but while I am still young and not quite aware how silly i'll look.. does anyone know about adding a dump valve to a 20VT? Thank you

Now, while i've takled some basic car mechanics (changed brake discs/pads etc) what level is adding a dump valve? Also, what even IS a dump valve other than a joyous noise maker?

The cd he left playing in his car was from the latest offering of gangsta rap. Tim you on the other hand share my taste. Cassette playing Jethro Tull. Quality that only a cassette can deliver. Simply awesome. Muzzy I didn't read the opening post but I saw a chance to abuse Lard so I took it before someone else did.

Very easily, I personally am torn between wanting a loud dump valve and a quiet one, I think it goes, The one that goes PPSSSHHTT is a non recirculating dump valve. and a quiet one is a recirculating dump valve. Please correct me if I am wrong. Although I do alot of late night fast residential driving and I think if all the neighbours constantly heard PPSSSHHTT ricocheting of the terraces all night I would find a brick through the windscreen of my car rather fast.

You can even be really turbosmart and get a dump valve that does both. Good old dual port atmospheric and recirc dependant on mood If I was to be reincarnated as a car part I wouldn't mind being a dump valve watch the turbo do all the hard work and get blown off all day ... Ahhh that would be the life lol

The tone of this has really gone downhill. so you can have it to do both dependent on mood? how hard is it to change it over? for when i have to pretend to be grown up. then if i am out being youthful I can but it into chav mode?? This is brilliant!

It easy takes ten minutes Undo old OEM dump refit new one if recirc Or remove feedback pipe and plug hole into turbo inlet pipe if going atmospheric. You may get a new hose to fit while your there dependant on dump and maybe cut down an old hose a bit but that's about it unless your feeling über chav and want an HKS SSQV So it won't even aggitate athiristis if that's cause for concern

OK, I'll try and converge the thoughts about dump valves and fat older men. I, too am a fat older man of over 50 (52 in fact and I think that's now past middle aged and way too old for an atmospheric dump valve), so one thing I don't like about my yellow plus that JBT sold me, is the stupid atmospheric dump valve that it's fitted with. Whenever I drive it, I feel like a chavvy, spotty teenager. So, if anyone wants to swap their fully functioning recirc, with my atmo, and is happy to do the work, you're welcome to it.

See I have to concur IMO Running without a dump valve or running with an atmospheric one is purely whether you can put up with the noise I do not see anything chavvy all joking aside about them infact their very rarely heard these days and it always puts a smile on my face when I hear another nice turbo car whooshing about, Depends what your into though I suppose I personally like to embrace it is a turbo car growling and whooshing about not like sie numerous amounts of silent German bland mobiles out on the road lol. And on a chav note I certainly do not see or know any youngsters that can afford a turbo car personally, unless they're them silver spoon in tut mouth jobbies lol so yeah certainly not chav a good old dump, maybe on a clapped out impreza ?

Motocoupe, who has posted in this thread, is only 20 and has just bought a 20VT, so young people do buy them. Nothing against younguns by the way. I was one once, a looooooong time ago! Also, I'm sure he's got no spots and isn't a chav.

Lol all personal taste ain't it It's at this point I must confess I was a nipper of only 18 years of age when I purchased my first coupe 16Vt and yes a DV26 did manage its way onto it haha I swear I was not a chav though and was a developing young car enthusiast it was my first small restoration of a car .... Things were different though back in the day always good to see yoof with good taste and not yoof with dangling teddy bears from the rear towing hook that seems to be superbly chav at the mo
