..16GB is back in stock now!

http://www.google.com/intl/ALL_uk/nexus/7/

My old man's just received his. Had to order one for myself. What a bargain for £159. Anyone else got one?

Im awaiting the nexus 4 to be back in stock to replace my wildfire... I think I got my moneys worth out of that!

My Father-in-law bought one and loves it. Great piece of kit. I must say that not being able to add a memory card to my iPad is becoming a pain.

You cant add additional memory to the nexus 7 Jim, although with the adapter you can mount external drives I believe.

Oh, I must have confused it with the kids' Galaxy Tabs - not as high-specced as the Nexus, but excellent nonetheless for £128. And they have a rear-facing camera and a memory card slot...!

One of the biggest drawbacks of the iPad but sdomehow fullay acceptable to the legions of Apple fans..one of whom will be along shortly to explain the advantages of limited and restricted memory, probably extolling the virtues of "the cloud", where someone else holds your information...of course it'll be safe as no-one has ever thought to abuse the internet

Hence my choice of the Galaxy Note. Which may be a cut-price-bit-of-crip-built-down-to-a-price-iPad-wanabee (as I'll no doubt be advised smile , but I can store as much as I want to on memory cards. And because it was cut price, was significantly cheaper..

I bought a Nexus 7 in December, the 32GB one was £180 in Carphone Warehouse and then I got the 32GB 3G version from Argos for £216 (I have a 10% discount card).

Initially I was happy with both but I just bought an iPad Mini and prefer the bit of extra screen space, (it's wider), the Nexus is taller.

One word of caution, be careful using multiple users feature in Jellybean 4.2 as it significantly slows the Nexus down, (thats why I bought a second device as sharing it with my wife).

Even though no non play store apps were installed there seem to be lots of "system instabilities, mainly with the clock and the launcher"....

There are nowhere near enough Tablet apps on Google Play in comparison to the iPad. I like the cards feature though. And why they don't ship it with a notes app is a total mystery to me. Great for watching films on though.

But it is slightly more pocketable. And at that price is a real bargain.
If you have never owned an iPad you will be happy, but if you have, it will slowly become frustrating to use. The lack of good quality apps is apparent, But thats just my opinion.

Nexus 4 will be back in stock shortly, keep an eye on this site https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_4_16gb

To add extra memory to either a Nexus 7 or iPad simply buy one of these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pogoplug-File-Media-Sharing-Device/dp/B003FZB6C8

File sharing/cloud storage made easy smile

I came from a Ipad to Nexus, the lack of screen is very difficult to get to grips with, its like trying to write a letter while pushing your hands though a letter box.
Its a great device for the money but as form factors go I would like the ipad mini with nexus OS.

I have run in to some nasty glitches with some software, mainly media players killing battry and preventing correct standby so be carfull

I have a nexus 7 and an iPad 2. I much prefer the nexus - it makes the iPad 2 seem like something out of the dark ages. I wouldn't consider the mini - the screen resolution is far too low and it's too wide to hold easily in one hand. I think the one thing that lets the nexus down is chrome, but that's easily sorted.

There's no point arguing which is better though, people like different things.

Dan, I don't want to get in to a apple vs Google thing but would love to here your rational for the iPad and dark ages thing?

For media and reading this thing is great, for heavy weight web surfing I find it hard work...that said I'm using it now to do this

You were right about the tablet being awkward to hold Sam. It just didn't feel right in my hands after playing with dad's. So I cancelled my order and got an Ipad 2 instead. I think the Apple app store sealed the deal. There's just nowhere near as many quality apps on the google play store.
