Given how rare it is to get a Coupe in Australia I am in an interesting position. I have the option to buy a 20VT, but if I do I'd have to sell the 16VT. What would you do?

The 20VT is a standard 1998 Ink black 5 speed with tan leather, sunroof and A/C. UK import in 2008. It's done only 42k miles and appears to be in very tidy cond overall. Under the bonnet looks immaculate, it drives very well but has no service history at all and only a red key.

My 16vt is a 1995 met black, 120k miles with full history, cloth seats, A/C, no sunroof, NZ import so no rust issues. general high mileage wear, paint is average, It's got a dink chip, Evo 6 FMIC, plus wheels, Konis, Eibachs. Ive had the engine out, new bearings, seals, clutch, cambelt, wp etc etc. It runs sweet, no problems at all and I just rebuilt the gearbox.

Long term I'm more interested in a track car than a daily driver. The 20VT is by far the better daily driver IMO. But the 16VT maybe the better track car. It has no sunroof and is much easier to work on. It's also the devil I know, I've got lots of spares and I'm happy with it.

I'd definitely go for it. I think you've answered your own question here though:

"I've got lots of spares and I'm happy with it."

Coopless!

I wouldn't touch a 20vt with no history, stick with what you've got.

And there's definitely no way of getting both into you possession? If not, I too would stick with the 16

As above, stick with the 16vt. You know the car and what's been done. As you've said, better the devil you know smile

As all above: Buy the 20VT AS WELL, or just keep the 16VT!

I'd love to have 2 but for one I can't justify the expense. I have enough money tied up in 1 Coupe. You see over here they cost about as much as a new cheap car! I also live in an inner suburb of Melbourne (close to the F1 track). Off street parking is virtually non existant and I do have 1 for the Coupe. The family car lives out on the street.

I know of a few spare garages up here and it's only a 2 hour flight!

Oh yes, you did that 2 weeks ago and had a great time before the "big wet"!

Steve, I would keep the 16 as you know its history etc. Although, one of each would be nice!
