Hello,

does someone know how much material I can take away from the 20VT-flywheel? Can I straighten the complete surface of the "additional weight"- side up to the gear rim?
Or have I to leave a certain edge (of the protruding material) for clamping the gear rim?
It appears (for me) that the gear rim is clamped or shrunk...
Can someone help me?
Thank you very much

Juergen

I got mine done took 4.5KG off and balanced it photo is really poor but we took the material from the inside of the flywheel not the outside.

you never want to take toomuch nearer the center, this will weakend the wheel too much dont forget this transmits the torque of the engine to the gearbox and doessnt just spin round. TurboJ is your post correct? looks like the outside circumference had the removal as expected. Remember to reduce moment of inertia of a rotating compent its reducing the weight at the larger radiuses that wil give the biggest reduction in momentum. If you thinned the material close the center not only would weaken the wheel but it would have a vastly dimished effect on moment of intertia.
