No you've missed out something: If the MAP output goes above 4.75V for a certain amount of time the ECU will cut into an 'emergency' map, (which I guess you didn't know about?) If you didn't know that then I suggest you step away from the 16VT before you break something. It's a time-based parameter, so its just a matter of time above 1.5 bar before... As I've said a gazillion times: I don't just say stuff off the top of my head. I say it because I've found it out for myself I haven't missed anything There is in fact a time based delta and also a MAP threshold delta both of which can be modified in order to allow boost above the MAP sensor range i.e. 1.5bar relative. The difference being I am able to change these parameters. I know you have experienced ongoing issues with the fuel cut, I read about your problems here.

Enough of this behaviour gentlemen.
It does nobody any credit.

We must all do our part for the planet. I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Oi... Flea... As you seem to have a lot of spare time today, you can make a start on your write up about my car.... It could take a while!! I am up to Chapter 16 Nick Regarding anything else, if you read my first post it was a direct reply to Burnbike's question, no comment or reference to anyone or anything else. Factually correct, and totally innocuous. It is not I that chooses to post without refrain, one only has to read the reply presented to me. I was also going to comment on the turbo options, but suffice to say I think I will give that a miss...

please comment on turbo info.
Not everybody follows the same path. Sometimes there are more then one way for good performance etc. Depends also on what the customer wants and their budget. So I think giving your own oppion isn't bad. Only respect each other and their oppion.
Giving us forum members more then one view on things. So for a neutral viewer can be handy.

There are the big lines : - TD05H-18G with 8cm2/T3 hotside - 38mm external wastegate on stock exhaust manifold + screamer pipe - 1000cc injectors (i'm running on full e85) - FMIC - Tipo inlet cam and 16vt intake fitted at exhaust (with variable cams pulleys) Interesting. TDO5/6 hydrids were very capable turbos and very popular when the early Mitsubishi Evos were new(er). So this turbo you speak of is a generic Kinugawa 18G It looks like a great bolt up option. Has anyone tried a 6cm turbine though? Saint use a T3/16G at one stage with mixed results. I think the TDO5 16G-8cm could be a very good 16VT street turbo though. 300HP+ capability and faster spool up than the OE T3.

In fact, it woul be better to get an evo turbo + manifold and fit it to the coupe...the result is amazing with better spool than stock and easily above 300hp+ I think the td05h-16g with 8cm housing and internal wastegate won't hit full boost until 3400rpm (unless you run tubular exhaust manifold or others performance parts).

Do you suggest the Kinugawa Evo fitment turbo or just an OE Mitsubishi? Mitsubishi 4+ have 9 or 10cm turbines but devided entry.
How well does the Kinugawa TDO5 18G 8cm spool up?
The turbo of choice for early Evos were the std TDO5H with 20G compressor. The 7cm housing was too small for top end power but that was the only option back then. With heaps of boost they made so much power at lower RPM is was still enough for 12 second 1/4 miles times.

Mine is a bit laggy, but I'm still with stock manifold, fiat OEM cams, manual boost conrtoller, stock head, a small intercooler, etc. But once you're at 4000rpm, it won't take much time to hit full boost. I hit full boost at 3800rpm with e85 but it seems that the 8cm2 housing with T3 flange and external wg is bigger than the internal wg housing (which is 8cm2 too) You can take the kinugawa turbos, but if you plan to get 400hp, I would go straight to TD06SL2R 20G. The bigger wheel with the 10.5cm2 is a good set-up. You should get full boost before 3600rpm on RON95/98 and 3300rpm on E85 with a lot of mid and top power. On next week-end I will try a 16vt coupe with TD05H-16G twinscroll setup running 330+hp...it should be very interesting to see the difference in mid and top power compared to mine

Is that with the 10.5 cm housing? I think the td05h-16g with 8cm housing and internal wastegate won't hit full boost until 3400rpm (unless you run tubular exhaust manifold or others performance parts). That's not too bad. You could use the 6CM if you want better responce I guess. I wonder how this turbo would perform, probably still make 300hp, you think?

It's tuned with C&B cams and 8,5:1 compression ratio. It should make around 300hp, maybe the 6cm^2 is too small for that kind of compressor wheel but nobody has already tried it I think.
