I heard some good things about them but personally got no experience with them.

Performance wise should be somewhere in between T-1R and R888.

Mick - general consensus from the track day crowd is that they are a great all round tyre - not quite up to the 888's or AO48's dry track performance, but close, and much better in wet conditions.

Only complaint I've heard is they wear a little quickly, but this is all from track circles where they're being pushed. And one chap in a 205 I spoke with last year had done 4 track days plus a trip to the ring and they were still looking healthy. Another in an Exige couldn't praise them highly enough, and had another positive review from a Sagaris owner.

Certainly for road use, they would seem an excellent choice thumb

I had them on my old Saab 9000 Aero in 235/40/17 for a year or so.

Really good tyre, id get another set no problem.
Gave fantastic grip in the dry and not bad in the wet, (wet and cold winter not so good though!...almost side swiped & killed a Porsche Caymen when it changed lanes on me!!) but coped well with 450-470bhp. Even gave me some grip WOT in 2nd! I had some Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's on there previously and these R1R's were a lot better.

They come up on ebay pretty cheap now and again, my 235's were cheaper than 225/45/17 back then.

I use these as my daily driver but swap to snow tyres in winter. Wear rate is ok in normal use despite the rating. Best summer tyre I've ever had but different story sub 5c. Came with warnings to check for cracks sub -10c.

Just ordered a set of 4 TOYO T1R 225/45/16 from tyretraders.com.

Using discount code mxclub (gives a few more quid than the casper code), the total was £296.55 delivered.

Best price I could find for the T1R tyres, so thanks for the link smile
