if the right cage for the unit and fiat cavity hasn’t been butchered i would imagine its just be installed poorly. recommendations would be find out your budget, think of all the features you would like, then do searches when you find your head unit that has what you want do price comparisons. Not forgetting you only get what you pay for usually the more you pay [within reason] the better you get. Hope this helps.

I've had 3 different JVC units in my cars. The oldest one was a KD-SX991R taken from my Sprint Blue, the next was a KD-R321 which has an aux socket for playing an iPod/MP3 player. I now have a KD-DB52 in all three of my Coupes, mainly because of my love for DAB radio (5Live and Planet Rock). All of these machines have fitted perfectly in the Coupe - with the new unit the DAB radio reception is outstanding just using the very small internal aerial on the windscreen, and transforms the traditionally awful radio reception from the OE aerial in the rear window.

My DABs cost £180 (including fitting by Halfords, and they did a good job). This was a special offer, but I'm sure you can talk them into a good deal; not many people buying stuff when I was in there Sorry, I should have said £180 each.....

I'm pretty sure that H_R has a normal centre console and normal ill-fitting DIN cage just like I have, it was like that with the OE Clarion, the Kenwood I had after that, and the Kenwood I have now. The opening is indeed a tad too large so that there's a visible gap around the head unit, and those two slots top and bottom are there from the factory too But if you take care to push out (with a small screwdriver, not your fingers) as many prongs as you can, especially those right at the front edge, you can get a tight fit and consider supporting the head unit at the rear to stop it bouncing up and down too much and/or getting some padding in there. I've always condidered the head unit fit to be poor, but there are plenty of other things to worry about!

Thanks for all the comments, yes i agree there are plenty of other things to be sorting out first! Yes mines nice and tight, just re-fitted it after fitting a clock bulb kindly sent by 812112 was just intrigued by the fit as it just looks crap being able to see the cage even after clipping on the facia surround.
