Have been informed that the back pressure from the decat on a stock exhaust may cause the seals in the turbo to blow if they're worn? My turbo is the stock turbo from new (97, 140k) as far as i'm aware and does not smoke at present. Question is, shall I risk it. I only use the coupe during the warmer months so mileage will be fairly low.

RICHB Unregistered R	It will almost certainly kill the turbo...prob quite fast as it the original one. The gains of the decat are minimal...why risk it ?

There are also probably as many people who have blown there oil seals running decat. It is a risk, for not a massive gain and you will have to swap back to the original cat every year for the MOT. If your turbo has a lot of miles on it why not get it refurbished with uprated seals then decat won't be a problem.

If you do get your seals done go to turborebuild.co.uk they will give you a good deal

nismo Unregistered N	i would only fit a supersprint decat as all the others seem to blow the seals on the turbo , i ran a supersprint on a standard turbo for 3.5 years with no problems and a mate on here ran one for 6 years without the seals going .
