Flea I agree the costs can mount, complete estimates: turbo is £100, the vband adaptor is £80 rebuild kit is £50(?) trumpets £50(?), pipes etc £50(?) and balance £75. So you're at £400
The equivalent recon hybrid from CR turbos is £525 and that will come with a limited warranty. I'm sure turbo dynamics were offering it cheaper, something Nigel sourced. Of course both would ideally require a remap and FMIC to get the best from the turbos.
The advantage of the hybrid is it slots straight on with no faffing or rebuilding. However if you get a good 2nd hand unit you can have a good upgrade for around £300.
