Just got a quote for a 20vt coupe...

First quote from existing insurer for my Merc, eSure... £866.
Merc (62 plate E-class, £32k worth) is £285 a year.

So I asked them to quote for both cars on a multi-car policy.... still coming out at £900 odd even with matching 5 years no claims to the other car.

I told them I'd done an online quote with 5 years no claims on the coupe and the quote was £280.... they messed around with some figures and matched it without doing that multi car rubbish.

Result is that I have 5 years no claims on both cars, no multi-car policy, just two single annual policies for £280 and £285.

Couldn't get near that price via comparison sites without the no claims, so it seems its worth asking your insurer to match the no claims on your main car if your coupe is a second car.
