Yes you are right, Parkrun is very good, as the soft ground is much beter on all the joints and the runners aren't too serious. Had I not fallen, I'd have easily completed a PB as the two people ahead of me finish a minute ahead! It's also a good excuse to take the coupe for a Forest run as well!!

Two seperate trail runs today both around 5kms. A bit slow on the second one, the first in the Forest of Dean and the second nearer to home.

Yes the distance running takes the edge off my pace too! Sadly once past your mid forties, the differnce between "sprints" and "jogging" becomes a tad indiscernable!
Good luck in the Half Marathon next week.

Not posted on here for a while now, but yesterday got a personal best. Burnham Joggers has a club event on Sunday morning called the ENVA 10. Basically a 10 mile course around the Dorney area. I posted my fastest ever 10 mile with very little long distance training. 1h 22 minutes and 38 seconds. Pretty mcuh managed to maintain an 8:15 mile pace all the way through. Dead chuffed, just got Reading Half marathon this coming weekend to do now.

Hi Skinflint. I am I the 1h30 to 1h40 section, but only because I am using somebody else's place. I am aiming for 1:50 so we should be around the same speed. I will be the tall skinny one in a burnham joggers t shirt. Also look out for the yellow van in the car park.

Another Reading Half Marathon complete I have a severe bout of runner's nipple which could keep me off work for weeks, and consumed more sachets of performance enhancing gels, proteins, electrolytes etc. than Lance Armstrong, but it was worth it. Nobody can strip me of my 1:41:45

Excellent time Skinflint. I managed 1:50:02 which I am happy with due to my distinct lack of long distance running. Next year Rodney, next year.

Your right cooper it is very addictive. The addiction only comes after a certain point though as I keep telling my dad. I fancy doing the Grim Challenge in aldershot this year. I think it might possibly be the hardest 8 mile running race ever. http://www.grimchallenge.co.uk/grim-8/

Nice one skinflint. Achieved another personal best on Friday. Did Maidenhead 10 mile race in 1:20.12 which I am very happy with. Then followed up this morning with a 7 mile recovery run which did the world of good. Need to get a 5k done soon as no idea how quick I am over 5k currently.

Well I need to update my time, the 1:20.12 was in fact my clock time and not my chip time. My chip time was 1:19.51!
Woo Hoo! Funny how much of a difference 21 seconds can make!
