Just in case anyone's £150k spare, this has been completed by a family friend, and it's absolutely stunning - I saw it in the flesh last week...

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/u...to-1974/1252719

And the website detailing the build:

http://www.jensenviperceptorse.com/

And to think I used to love the original Interceptors, should I win the lottery love

Looks fantastic. Saw it the other day on Retro Rides for sale board and thought it was a bit out of place among sub £1k Pumas, Rovers and other tat.

I like it but stunning isn't a word I'd use to describe it.

There are a lot of bespoke and rare £150k cars I'd rather have in my lotto garage.

£70K would buy you a low-mileage 2007 Lambo; park that next to the 355 and you would still have change........

That's pretty fugly.

I think I'd have left the Viper engine in the Viper and pocketed the change.....

It has some appeal - yet I'm not sure why. It would grow on me.

I'd rather not have a viper - there may be no replacement for dispalcement but a 3.0 could manage what that 8.0 original managed.

I've been following the build on YouTube. It's an awesome car, but they've gone too far on the styling for me. I do love the original Interceptor though. I will own one at some point in my life.

Drove my boss's 8.3 Viper in California a few years ago - intoxicating torque. Not sure the Jenson does it for me though

This is what you want. Sounds AMAZING too.... and for an American car, it looks GREAT. Twin turbo.....

You just have to listen...

Amazing car, although I'm still not entirely convinced by some of the styling cues. I bet this looks incredible in the flesh though.

I have a (mostly) original MK1 Interceptor and love it to bits. Awesome cars.

Yeah, it sounds almost like the perfect noise for me.... grunty V8 throb and serious top end wail..... with a sweet topping of twin-turbo icing. laugh

Looks a brilliant job with great attention to detail yet retaining simplicity and originality with a twist.
Very impressive.

But its the price of three houses in this area laugh
