I took the day off work today to give the coupe a bit of scrub, I had a simple day planned, but the coupe had other ideas. After a well deserved lie in I got the coupe out of the bat cave and headed off to Halfords for some supplies stopping on route to get a quote for a new alarm. No problems so far. I got back home parked up and went to pop the bonnet...... bloody cable snapped. Cleaning plans on hold I set about getting the bonnet open, after following the how to the bonnet was opened and an hour or so later a temporary linkage in place I started cleaning. A quick buff and wipe over under the bonnet and I decided it was time to test my new linkage. For some reason even though it was pretty obvious it wasn't working I kept pulling... you guessed it, snap! So I decided to carry on cleaning and pretend it never happened. After washing the car I went to move it into the shade for a polish and wax and the bugger won't start, not my day. The engine was turning over but not firing, oh and now I could really do with a working bonnet release. Maybe I accidentally pulled a plug cleaning? No. Maybe I got some water in the electrics? No. Cue much head scratching and eventually a call to the RAC. Diagnosis, a fuel problem, hmmm now where is the fuel cut off switch? Yep, somehow when I snapped the handle off my bonnet release I punched the fuel cut off! In total about eight hours to wash a car. Next year it's going to Brooklands dirty.

I feel for you too, but also had to laugh You've worded the events in the same way I would have, which makes it sound amusing This bit is especially me: So I decided to carry on cleaning and pretend it never happened. I'm sure it'll all be ok later and worth it and hope you enjoy Brooklands
