Good fun, although a field in Khazakhstan looks pretty much like a field in Mexico, or Australia, or South Africa, or anywhere else chinny

True, although I'm getting better.

Road signs and advertising boards are good clues.

Except when Google Maps don't know where the place in question is... still managed over five thousand points with the first two pictures - an anonymous chunk of the Alaska pipeline and some fields near the Great Lakes.

I honestly don't know how you could cheat with this...?

I navigate around the street view until I find something that gives me a clue (like the language a roadside advert is in, or the skin tone of pedestrians).

As you say, I navigate around the area looking for signs or shops then google the name of the shops using google maps, then zoom into street view and see if it looks the same.

I've managed a 0.005km distance from the starting point. It's stuck me in the middle of the desert in Australia and that took some navigating driving type wobble
