...was a lurker watching LE99 but wasnt brave enough as a first experience; having signed up here i'm really glad it seems to have gone to a good home / enthusiast and will follow the thread with green eyed interest!

anyway, i'm close to buying a coupe of some other form as i've always hankered after one since their launch. my tr7 is being sold to make way, so i'm off to browse the buyer's guides and other great tools on this forum.

i'm not a stranger to fiat - having had a punto gt and stilo abarth previously, thinking these cars will be very different in style and character though. very excited!

can't wait to be uploading images as a proud owner!

Welcome, I hope you find a nice example, check for corrosion, especially in the boot area and buy the right one the first time round smile

thanks for all of the welcomes. i'm going to make the classic error of seeking a car within a defined budget, rather than the best available...
i learn at 3:30 that i missed out on the autotrader 5 pot n/a VIS engine car earlier today (todays viewer bought it, if they are on here grrr! no seriously, good luck).

however i have since seen a car that seems to have been looked after, and is standard bar a dump valve and induction kit. silly, "noob" question, but i presume that this can be undone and returned to how fiat intended?

thanks in advance!

A 20VT? Go for it.

You may find that a decent induction kit and dump valve will improve the Coupe's performance and economy. On my Scottie I have a K&N cone filter rolleyes but a Forge dump valve thumb ; brilliant piece of kit. Very simple items to chop and change though.

Good luck - oh, and welcome!
Tim

thanks all, well, now the proud owner of a w plated 20VT-6 in moon grey. i really wanted an LE but thats something to work up to.
this one looks like a ex-forum car, has all the stickers and history etc. has a few niggly issues but hence the price of £1600. i have a budget for a few bits to be done, in order for me to cherish and enjoy this fine car.
it ran from scotland back to wakefield during collection earlier, 'twas very calm to start - then i got confident!

seems to be a fab car, hope its not a known lemon on here!
pix to follow...
