Hi all,
OK, so I've got Nobby's welded front subframe to fit. I have newish Fiat wishbones, Polybush front droplinks, standard every thing else. I also have Bilstein & Eibach suspension and a 22mm rear ARB. What else should I be looking at to make the best of the modification?
Thanks, Ross.

Front ARB bushes and check the condition of the rear gearbox mount while it's off. Steve at AA supplies these the bushes as well as the mount should you need one.

Is it worth also checking suspention top-mounts/bearings?

Thanks for that Joe, does the rear gearbox mount give any tell-tail signs of wear? Or do they just go? Or do they just get slack?
Is it worth poly bushing the front ARB? Or stick with standard rubber ones?
As for top end suspension, all bearing and mounts were changed when the shocks and springs were uprated.
Ross. smile

Gearbox mount plate often bends. It takes a huge oomph when you launch the car for example.

Ross you're looking for aged/cracked rubber, and check the main bolt is straight as they often bend.

Polybush ARB bushes would be my route smile

Has anybody tried these? they're 25% stiffer than the purple powerflex ARB bushes. How much more road noise do poly bushes transfer through to cabin? Is there a noticeable difference in handling between standard rubber and poly bushes?
Is this the gearbox mount you guys are talking about? This one is the rear centre one.

That's the gearbox mount not sure whether the 20v is the same as 20vt though. You can buy fast road Vibratechnics but they cost a fair whack more. The plate that bends is the one at the top of the photo in your link.

You can weld some more metal on to that plate to make it solid. Cheap solution! smile
