Clicky me... We have a forth coming flight soon with our 18 month daughter, and we are not looking forward to it, its 4 hours! She can't sit still to save her life, so things are needed to keep her quiet. We have the list down to 2 items to satisfy her. The first one being hard drugs, which I fear may be frowned upon. The other being a cheap disposal tablet (not of the drug variety) with endless episodes of Justins house and Show me Show me!! So my query is, will this one suffice, and bets on whether it will last a 2 week holiday!

I went for the second one, but an odd experience on Amazon. I dropped a purple one into the basket at £39.99, then wondered if any of the others were cheaper, so added all colours to the basket and the white went in at £34.99. So I deleted the rest and paid £34.99 for white. After purchasing the white colour then went up to £44.99, but I checked my invoice and it clearly states £34.99 and now the white is back to £39.99 Thanks for the advice Jim, will watch out for that, on the assumption it lasts more than 2 weeks!

Before you take the plunge: average battery life on that tablet is down as 3 hours. That doesn't sound so good - not on a 4 hour flight! I saw that, but hopefully she will be happy with some colouring, eating and talking to the air staff as well..

I have a similar cheap tablet, works ok but can be a little slow at times and the battery life isn't good. That said, it plays video fine, plays games fine, the net browser isn't great but works. I use mine mainly for reading the news and google currents.

An alternative to help poor battery life is a battery booster, which does what it says on the tin...i bough a great one from amazon for about £18 and it's a god send

Well this turned up today, and I can honestly say its the best £30 I have ever spent. its not that quick, but it does all we needed and best of all the daughter started laughing immediately as she played a game with balloons and a pin and it kept her quiet for a good 20 minutes. We may be onto a winner - just got to hide it for 2 weeks now from her
