Hi guys, thought i'd share some more twin turbo pictures

click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge click to enlarge

That last pic gives you a idea of the amount of boost this sort of setup is capable of producing, basically what happened was one of the vacuum lines split so the small turbo no longer had any boost control, once the big turbo got going it started to compound the boost and things got a bit out of hand! unfortunatley it wasn't just a burst pipe it also finished off the small turbo, but it was a interesting experience!

Awesome Pictures!
Do you have any power figures for this? Or has it not been properly mapped yet? Also is the stock intercooler sufficient?

Keep them coming thumb

What happened to the front cross rail between the inner wings and how will you replace it?

Awesome project smile

It was making 360hp/360lbft @ around 5k when I had it on the rolling road, It was still a work in progress at that point so I was more curious to see what was going on with it rather than getting finished power figures. Its not been mapped as such but i've just about got it covered! Theres two intercoolers I used the standard one just to take some heat out of the charge from the big turbo before it goes into the smaller one, I will probably get something made up or possibly use a charge cooler, problem now is the lack of available space

Well its possible to get some pretty daft boost pressure's out of it but I dont have any plans of going silly with it at the moment

That car's scrap, was easier to take the front end off and pull everything out in one go rather than strip it down in the engine bay

Its not that bad really, do need to get a heat shield back over the exhaust manifold though

Thanks!

The standard turbo on the manifold, the bigger turbo's and a T3/T04b H-trim with the .63 housing and stage 3 turbine wheel. Think i'm right in saying the standard turbo's compressor wheel is a T3 50 trim

It sounds good, its actually really quiet now, wasn't really expecting it. Adding another turbo down stream of the first seems to have removed all the noise from the exhaust, not sure why its still a full 3" system

Hi guys I've been having a play with a piggyback ecu ,I would post a link but don't know how to! Its a pretty impressive bit of kit for the money with ignition control, fuel control, boost control, launch control, datalogging etc

Anyway its able to generate some dyno graphs via the info in the datalogs

The first graph is the big turbo only with the wastegate on the small turbo fully open, max boost is around 15-16 psi

The second graph is both turbo's running with around 20psi dropping to around 18psi

I need to sort a few things out before I can turn the boost up, I'll post some more graphs up when I have them

Looking good cool

Judging by the graphs you posted, the piggy back ECU is http://www.ecumaster.co.uk/products/digital-ecu-tuner-3

Thanks, yeah that's it mate

There's a couple of screen shots of two graphs that should be generated from the same logs, can't remember there's lots of them!

If you export the dyno graphs out from the software you seem to loose all the relevant info up the Y axis

dam that monster must push you back into your seat like a f1 car!
Can only imagine what the torque steer like though, Bit of hold on and hope! Lol..

Have you added a extra fuel tank yet or just plenth trips to the petrol station!! Lol...
Keep the updates comeing, fantastic read...

Not sure about a F1 car but it is slightly bonkers when its running high boost, Its got a leaking wastegate diaphragm that needs fixing first, I'll get some high boost graphs up once I've sourced some parts smile

Nice to see an unusual project, glad you are back with the updates.
So, it doesn`t go like F1 car, but I bet it sounds better than one.
