Hi, the coupe is in need of a new alarm and my local place although does very good work by all accounts, wants an arm and a leg to replace my current alarm. Does anyone have any recommendations of alarm fitters in the south east/ Thames valley area?

Sorry don't know that area, but at one point a couple of years back me and a couple of other coupe owner's phoned alarm place's asking for a group price if you like for the coupe, if any coupe owners live near you it might work out better that way.

Good idea, might start a group buy thread, although I am terrible at organising stuff and someone else will have to take over half way through!

Why do you want an alarm? They just make lots of noise, piss of neighbours and kill the battery crazy

Save your money would be my advice, the immobiliser is more than adequate on the coupe and if the central locking is not working there are units to be had for under £30 that can fix that.

I have a rather expensive stereo system that is made by a company that no longer exists, and it's more for when the coupe's not parked at home.

Blanking plate to cover the stereo would be best. I have yet to see a car alarm deter a thief from stealing anything inside the car. By the time someone looks to see who is making a noise nuisance the thief and stereo have long since gone.

na that's wrong bock they really do deture it been proven that's why you can get more insurance discount for a cat 1 any thief wont want to Couse attention or risk some one running out with a baseball bat they always pick on the quiet cars first although there are always exceptions to the rules!
