Now, I amsure they must be available, but what's the situation with LHD Headlight units?

I intend to take the coupe over to France with me and I am guessing that I will need to fit new units. I am also guessing that they aren't going to be that easy to find these days?

Just trabelling on holiday is one thing, as the standard fitting is difficult to fit with converters, but it will never pass the CT unless I change them; pretty sure!

Anybody done it already and how easy was it to find the parts?

Thanks

Talk to Joe Magooagain, he did it 3 or 4 years ago.

Also keep an eye on the French coupe club forum www.fiatcoupe.fr where sets show up for sale from time to time.

I even unplugged my own.

Quite widely available. New € 350 for the pair if you know your way round the European scene. Available second hand as well for say 150-200 euro. (euro > pound = /1.2)

Thanks,

I suppose it's likely to be the case ... more spares available second-hand as Coupes end their life!

Will have to scour the French and other sites.

European ebay? I bought a brand new LE fuel cap, from Germany cheaper than standard refurbs were going for on here a couple of years ago.

I have a set of LHD headlight units if you are interested.

It's a simlpy 5 min job to swap the lights over. Just 8 small nuts and 4 wiring clips to undo/redo IIRC.

I can take a few picks of their condition this evening if you wish.

Incidentally you may find you need to fit another fog light. I bought a UK spec car while serving in Germany and had to fit an auxiliary fog light as the fitted light was on the wrong side.

You know, that's something I wouldn't have thought about! Headlights are obvious, but rear foglight I probably would have missed.

Thanks everyone. Not actually moving to France just yet, but the Coupe may be going on a little before and it'll need to be registered etc.

My coupe has passed 3 ct tests with no reference to the rear fog light being on the wrong side.

That's good to know. To be honest I was getting a little nervous about taking the Coupe over with us and all the (probable) hassle with re-registering ....

... but still going to do it as I can't imagine being without it!

What year is your coupe? It may make a difference to the log book cost if it is a year 2000 i think.
When you are about to change registration give me a shout if you need any help.
