I'm looking to get the best battery I can for my Tipo 2.0 16v

It can sit for quite a few days at a time sometimes a good week and I want the confidence that its going to start and be okay. I have had the car checked and its not pulling power when stationary so I i'd like a good battery that doesn't cost the earth.

I hear good reviews about Bosch Silver batteries but can't seem to find them. How do you workout which size of battery is the best you can into the car?

Thanks in advance!

I have a Bosch Silver on the Coupe - it often stands for a week or two and on occasions it can stand for a month or more (usually when I break something and its at Motormech for repair....)

They do seem the way to go. Where did you get yours?

Any idea how I can size the most powerful battery I can put on?

I too have a Bosch Silver in my coupe, it regularly stands for a month or more at a time.
5 year warranty and I bought it from Halfords using a trade card which brought the cost down to around £60 3 or 4 years ago.

The warranty is a good one which I have used due to the first battery failing after about 18 months.

I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Thanks Pete. I am a sold man on the Bosch Silver front.

Can anyone shed any light on how to spec which battery is the best?

I might be unlucky had 2 Bosch silver and both had to be replaced within 6 months. Now have a standard run of the mill Halford battery in my coupe, CRV and Punto. All 3 can sit around for 4-6 weeks at a time and when needed they start first time.

Halfords and Costco carry the Bosch silver range, halfords is exactly *double* the price of Costco though.

Had 3 Bosch Silvers replaced by Costco under warranty over the years, when they just failed to hold any charge after about 2-3 years.

Varta Silver Dynamic. That's after going through SEVERAL BOSCH and Exide batteries on 2 cars.

Don't have one yet on my Coupe though, there I just have a Tudor (Exide) battery because I had to wait a couple of months before the local shops could supply and I needed one there and then. But next swap, there'll be no doubt in my mind.

Assuming the battery tray to be similar in size to the coupe/Bravo, 096 is the biggest size that'll fit. Should last you well.

It only just fits the coupe. Do want some measurements to double check before you order?

If you have some that would be good, thanks. I'll be back with the car tomorrow so I can see if it will fit.
