There will be 3 hours endurance race early october here, and i'm eager to participate with my car. With my experience from my past 4 endurance races(with Alfa145) fuel consumption and refueling during the event is very important...that's why i need to know if anyone know for sure how much approximately is the consumption in race mode.
I know that it can differ from track to track and engine and turbo used, but it can help me a lot.....
I must decide GT28RS or OE turbo to use......
Thanks....

My very rough calculation following a track day was that my standard 20VT did around 10mpg when on track. I suspect that in a race it would be even less.

hmmm 3 hours - average of say 90 mph - 270 miles, 39 gallons of fuel or 177 litres so 3 fuel stops if you don't mind the risk of pushing it round the parade / warm down lap.

It's not a fast track, it can not be called track anyway, because for me it's potato field, 1.8km long, only one straight....
My guess(and hopes) is that with GT28rs i can be within 110 liters for entire distance......last year BMW M3 did it with 115......

If you have a timed race, you should measure fuel consumption against laps or time, not mileage. MPG can change enormously compared with L/min depending on the circuit.

To get in the ballpark

total injector flow x max duty x % full throttle will give an upper limit of fuel consumption in L/min. Real consumption will be lower.

I used to get about 6-8 from mine on track with a GT28R turbo.....

What I would be far more worried about would be making sure that my oil cooler, rad, intercooler etc. are all in very good condition - 3 hours is a long time in terms of heat - I would also make sure that you have an aftermarket oil temp gauge, and keep a close eye on it.

Point taken.....i decide to use the stock turbo with race staggered oil seal, had slightly bigger mocal oil cooler in place of OE one, must duct some extra air through it and preventing air going around the cooler.....Gtec2 ordered from eBay, new Federals 595RSr 225\40\17.......06.10.13 - raceday......i can't wait......

Yes i have FMIC used for 2 years with GT28RS with stage 3 Flea remap, 4b FPR, Walbro, wire mod, SIP, OE injectors, W\Meth injection.....for this endurance i just removed GT turbo, OE FPR back on, and shorten the exhaust pipe.

Well it seems that for 3 hours endurance race i lost almost 80 liters fuel......having in mind that hour after the start boost controller fail, boost display and ABS also failed few laps afterwards and i used only wat/meth injection on/off lamp which lights on 0.7 bar to know where the boost is, and not to overboost the engine - so maybe 90 - 95l if everything was fine. But it will depend from the track. We were beaten by BMW Z3 with 68 seconds, but i'm really happy that Coup survive it......
