Ok folks at some point i will need to buy some strong and reliable track wheels.
I dont know the ins and outs of bigger sized wheels,so i am happy to be educated on that.
16 inch i am also happy with. Give me your choices and opinions please.

Wider tyres and wheels almost every time can produce better laptimes, but cost more and not always suitable for road driving.
20VT - Alfa 156 2.0 - Alfa 156 Mid-Engined RWD - Locost 20VT

I think 16 - 17" at around 225 section would be best compromise of cost and performance (cost must be high on priorities for track tyres!). Bigger wheels would theoretically give you a higher grip threshold with regards traction and braking but negligible real world I'd have thought. Personally I'd go for whatever is the best price - find a tatty set of 16s cheap and get decent mid-range tyres!

My preference would be new or nearly new. I have Toyo 888s on some refurbed 20vt wheels at the moment, but my future plans mean that the coupe will be going faster on track. We have seen some failed wheels in the past.
With the age of the wheels i think i need something more recent.

There are issues with caliper clearance on a lot of wheels - and the four stud requirement for the coupe.
Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 are light, and fit - they just used to have an annoying lead time...

Team Dynamics pro race 1.2 These would be my first choice (and in fact are, as I have them on my Westfield). I think Nigel also runs these on his Coupe? A good set of strong, light wheels.

I use Pro Race 1.2s on my track day car. I think I paid £330 from ebay for a very good set with good tyres on which are 4 x 100 (much more common size) et38(ish). Youll need spigot rings and longer bolts as well, but they are easy to source. They provide a much better track hold than the 16VT wheels I was using before, the difference is well worth the change to 17s. Obviously the setup is more important than the wheels themselves for track days!
