Anyone know of a company who would produce registration plate with a slight extra spacing between various numbers and letters and stay within the law?

Try THESE guys John. As your car is pre 2000 show plates are legal as long as they are spaced correctly and reflective. You can play to your hearts content with the design. This is the Co. I got mine from wink I have a set of MOT spaced plates for one day of the year and an everyday set. The police ANPR system would have no problem reading the plate as it is in standard type font.

Thanks Ross.

Great fun designing my own plate, now lets see if they can make it.
