Just a quick one just bought my second coupe and its fitted with standard shocks and eibachs.
As it stands it is very firm would billies soften the blow much?
Also i dont want it too low as i have speedbumps and carparks to deal with laugh

Forgot to add car is on 18s..

No is the short answer, the spring rate is increased on the Eibachs so it will always be firmer.
What the Billy's can do is make it feel more controlled, the slightly increased damping rate matches the increased spring rate better so in theory you get less oscillations and a more controlled feeling from the dampers.

Also the billies should not lower it any further.

My car is on OE Shocks with Eibachs - yes the ride is firmer but should still be compliant enough not to be too crashy. Its dependant on the state of your shocks - are they more than a few years old?

Yes they are still the original shocks i believe unless ive missed it in the paperwork..

Car has done 51k so maybe worth just replacing the standard shocks and see how it feels?

Mins is on std shocks and 18s with Novitec lowering springs and the ride is crashy, I just got used to it! Fancied some new dampers for a long time but I can't justify the outlay!

In my old car, uprated dampers definitely made the ride 'feel' smoother and less crashy as the wheels didn't crash into bumps and potholes in the same way, didn't feel anywhere near as bouncy over bumpy roads either.

Thats what I would do mate unless you can stretch to Billies.
Its only cost that stopped me doing that - My Fiat Shocks are still very healthy and ride well with Eibachs

The issue is the springs not the shocks...

I hated running on billies + eibachs... The ride was crashy and speed bumps were a nightmare. UNLESS you are building your coupe for track use (and by that I mean more than one session a year) I would strongly recommend

Billies + Standard Springs

Im currently running that setup on my coupe (many others do) Its a fantastic compromise. You get better dampening but a nice comfortable ride and handling is not compromised. Obviously the car will feel a lot more planted if it was lowered however its about finding a compromise. If you are driving on the road there really is no need.

If you are using eibachs because you want the lowered look... then im afraid you will have to live with it laugh

I'm not sure if Joe still has his own springs at FCSS - I found these on my old coupe to be better than standard for ride comfort even using standard shocks.

The ride height wasn't too low either(but lower than standard), just right for road use. These + Billies would probably be the best set up.

I agree with Mario, I 've had my coupe 17 years and tried loads of different set ups,the one that suits me best is billies and standard springs -- but then I run 18" wheels too, with eibachs it was bloody awfull
It's always a compromise , that's the set up I found was the best all round for today's roads

I use Eibach+Billies+18"-rims.
The ride is very controlled, and on motorway cruising a LOT more comfy than Eibach + std shocks. Almost Citroen-like! cool
You have to remember std shocks - with Eibach's - are in full-load/low mode, therefore very hard. As opposed to Bilstein B6 which are made to work at that height.

The key to comfort:
Cut the front (and rear) rubber bumpstops by around half.
If you don't, the front Bilstein's (having taller cylinders than std shocks) will actually rest on the rubber - meaning you'll have rubber suspension! crazy

sadly a very good representation of UK roads. The motorways and A roads are no better either. I finished a shock on the A55 a few months back.

And the reason I don't run eibachs and bilsteins along with 18" wheels in the uk frown

The roads in Sweden are not very good either, anymore. Especially round Gothenburg which is a pretty poor place.
I was talking about highways I think.
