My company car arrives next week.... 2 months earlier than expected. You would think I would be excited, but we don't get a choice of cars, so it is a Peugeot 208 1.4Hdi (imagine the power) cry Ok, I should be grateful, but I get more enjoyment from a £900 Coupe than a new Pug !

This means too many cars on the drive, and the Coupe may have to be put to bed for the winter.

But I'm an addict. How will I do cold turkey in a Peugeot?

Advice on ways to cope gratefully accepted !!

Treat the Peugeot with the total disdain it deserves for NOT being a Coupe - you know, thrash it from cold, try to wear the maker's name off the sidewalls, etc laugh

I drive a 406 HDI 110, 4 wheel drifts round roundabouts, actually doing an experiment to see how much I can abuse it without maintaining it (one oil change in 5 years!!!!!!). You may not hate the Pug, yes it will have no soul but not bad cars.
My coupe is now in the garage, but i`m thinking of adding a `catflap` so I can extend the tailpipe and at least run the engine and pretend `i`m driving. Also shoot some outragious coupe video and watch when you need a fix. I did.

Do what I do, go and visit it regularly, look, love and dwell on the memories until next spring. Mines in the shrine now too frown

Thanks. Feel a bit better now. cool

I did have a Pug 307 HDI (110bhp) and it was actually a great car to drive - very comfy and handling was good. The seats were by far the best of any car I've had for long distance comfort.

But, the interior trim was poorly put together though and the Blaupunkt CD sytem failed on the two identical cars I knew. A few electrical issues too. I think Fiat make more solid cars.

Other problems was the clutch failed (dual mass flywheel) every 10k miles (a known issue with that model). Luckily it was a company car.

By comparison, the MK 2 Leon TDi and my old Mk4 Astra were both been pretty much faultless in over 80k miles each.

The Fiat.... not so, but hey, it only cost c £900 laugh

It amazes me what abuse modern engines will take. I've got a mate who never changes his oil... and the poor old engine soldiers on. Personally, I get to attached to cars to see them "suffer."
