Afternoon all, hope this is the right place to post this (bit out of touch with the rules & regs these days!)

Does anyone know anything about this car:

Inky for sale

It seems on paper to tick a lot of boxes in our search for a second Coupe, but it's a flippin long way from home! Does look like it may have previously inhabited the south/south east, given the service record.

The description is very long and detailed (if a little wearing to read!) which helps. But I'd only travel that far if I was sure I was going to buy it, and for that I'd need more confidence, perhaps a local check for me, and a bit of a telephone haggle!

So, any input welcome, thank you!

Try searching the threads - I think someone on here nearly bought it but had trouble with the reg doc/insurance. Hope my memory is correct on that - dont want to mislead.

I've seen it advertised a couple of times on ebay. Each time there's been a line about buyers pulling out due to the registration details. Which bit of Stockport is it in?

And reading the advert the cam belt is more than three years old. So will need to be done asafp.

Belt advice is 5yrs or 70k so I think I'd be relaxed about 3yrs. Yes needs doing in next 1-2yrs but not urgent ??

I would not drive a coupe with a belt that old and low miles with it.
Mine get done every 2 years what ever. Engines are hard to come by these days, so why take the risk.

20vt belts are tough as old boots; I'd have no problem with five years.

*Aux* belts, on the other hand, I'd inspect yearly and change every two.

Fiat specificed 6 years or 72K for the cambelt change.

Personally I'd be happy to stick by that and tbh would be tempted to leave it even longer if mileage was low, although at least a visual inspection of the belt would be wise.
