I'd say see if you can get it for a steal but be wary the turbo's smoking according to the ad but they can be picked up cheap enough now

Engine rebuild and new turbo 4K ago and it's smoking already? Personally I wouldn't touch it.

Thanks folks. I'll try and clarify whether its the turbo or the engine, but I suspect that the answer may be, "think it's the turbo", but cant't be sure and have no expertise etc..

Ring Solo, if they rebuilt the engine they'll have a good idea why and if it was done on the cheap / reason for rebuild. If it was a snapped belt, walk away.

Personally I'd snap it up if it's rot free and doesn't go for much more money.

Worst case is a new motor and then you have yourself a nice primer moon grey coupé. Which hold their price well.

Even a new turbo core can be had for as little as £150 if you shop around.

Let it run for 10mins, then give it a few good revs, if it smokes upon revving, more than likely oil seals on turbo. If it smokes on tick over, no revs could be something more serious

Last seller 10 days ago replied to me saying I could buy it for £1700, Before I had time to reply as work was sooooo busy, I had another reply saying... Have it for £900?? I was thrown,

I ignored, then two days later saw it advertised from what I presume to be a new buyer with a guff turbo...

Thats all I know.

Even at £900, and a blown turbo, that's not a bad price for a good looking coupe. Check for tin worm of course shame it's over that price now.
