I've seen a few of these, but was just wondering if anyone had ever had one on a fiat coupe?
I know you get them on skylines and supra's ect..
But are they harmful to the engine/turbo? As I have no knowledge on these
Thanks

I wouldn't bother because if your going to get it mapped at a good place then they can do it at the same time. There's no point revving to 8k when your turbo etc only efficient up to 6500rpm

Plenty of negative feedback about Bee*R limiters, becuase they appear to dump fuel into the exhaust, where it can be ignited by the next exhaust pulse. Might sound entertaining, but I guess it can damage turbos, exhausts and silencers

There's also some question about whether it will work on a 20vt (most information I've found seems to suggest 4 or 6 cylinders only)

Leighton can do whetever you want with the limiter and the stock system works pretty well

Okay thanks for your info!
Would It be the case of having the fueling increased for the pops/bangs?

Thanks

As far as I can tell from a quick bit of Googling, it seems to cut the spark, but not the fuel. The injectors still fire, but the mixture can't ignite. As the unburned mixture exits the cylinder on the exhaust stroke, it comes into contact with still-burning mixture from another cylinder, and it then ignites. At this point, it could be in the exhaust manifold, the turbine housing or the downpipe - none of which are built to cope with combustion pressures

Don't mess around with them, simple. If the car runs fine, enjoy it, that's the way I look at it.

Any aftermarket rev limiter that you fit will only allow you to set the limit below the normal rev limit. No good.

Either myself, or Midlands Car Servicing, or FC Performance can map your ECU - along with appropriate rev limits smile

Build it properly, drive it properly and (if it's anything like my Plus was) you'll get plenty of pops and bangs on the over-run love
