Unbelievable; that looks nasty. Will need good old fashioned quality panel beater to save that one.

Bo11ards grr grr

Not another one so soon frown

How can drivers be so unobservant!

I'm guessing it is actually repairable?

At least it wasn't the bonnet.

Be careful out there guys, we're almost in the season of attrition and it seems coupes do suffer during winter with the roads full of unskilled cabbages ramming everything in sight grr

It's horrendous, coupes have recently turned into target practice!
I think it's jealousy.

Can't tell from the pic but I have gained a lot of camber and a wonky steering wheel.

Bad times.

If you've been hit on the back and your steering is out I'd be prepared for a write off. Hopefully it's not twisted the floor and just done your trailing arm. The panel damage on the outside is a simple repair though.

'Tis no longer the season to be jolly frown

Hope its only panel damage, if so its salvageable even if the insurance write it off.

I know John. All that time and effort on you part. Having to put up with all my questions phone calls and text.lol. and the brass I put into it.

yeah she had never run as well as she does now. Well since I was lucky enough to purchase her.

You can't really see how bad it is from the pics. Boot floor looks straight (with my untrained eye).

I'll have to wait and see what the insurance people say.

My guess is that they will write it off (Cat D) - to repair that properly (ie to insurance company standards) will require a lot of panel work and possibly a new panel to be fitted (I believe rear quarters are still available from Fiat)

If the car is crabbing, I'd say the wheel was hit as well, which will mean a new wheel and tyre, new radius arm and maybe even a new subframe. Worst case scenario (which I doubt) is that the shell is twisted slightly - I hope this isn't the case

A decent body shop will be able to pull a lot of it out and fill the rest - you should be able to buy the salvage back and have it repaired yourself

Good luck

PS don't take anything the insurance company says as gospel - experience says they are always open to negotiation

If the boot opens and shuts without a problem, the floor is probably OK.

Thanks for the sympathy people.

I hope it's not crabbing and that it has just done the tracking as the junction was situated mid corner. Unless it's disturbed the sub frame?

No speed involved in my part as it was in a 20 zone.

I'd much rather the bonnet be damaged, as that's easily replaced. Muzzy's damage will be more of a hassle to get sorted frown

Body looks free from twists, roof is unmarked as is the rear, Wheel is bent in and looks like it is slightly touching the inner wing / plastic on rotation. Bit of plastic stuck in the fork of the wheel. Rear quarter doesn't look too bad rear bumper paint has been stressed but no visible damage.
Boot panel gap is fine as is the passenger door.

Wheel is the only real worry!

Hope my niece is ok!!!

Hope you manage to get it repaired.
Insurance companies write these cars off all to easily when it's not there's.
And Two being hit this week it's a crying shame.
It will come to a point where these cars will be garaged and never seen.
The paranoid drivers including me won't be scared of general failures it will be being tapped by other cars.
Gutted for the both of you this week. frown

Did I hear somewhere that if the accident claim is on the other parties insurance, you can push for having the car fully repaired rather than written off?

I might be wrong, or it might be a particular type of insurance, but I'm sure I was talking about it in the context of my 155 Q4 which has quite a high agreed value policy

I had a similar no fault claim and dealt directly with the other parties insurance company, the thread is HERE which you may remember Muzzy. Good luck and fight your corner.
