anyone into this? Im looking at going all out on my fish tank as it needs a refresh. Im looking at substrates for a fully planted tank. In particular ADA powersand followed by ada Amazonia.

I could really do with some advice around substrates and what layers I need and how to really get it right.

Any experts here?

I wish I was Mario, I wanted to do the same. I had a four foot bow front Jewel aquarium I was going to aquascape in a big way. It sat in my office for 3 years and the only thing it had in it was a dead fly!
Life gets in the way these days, so I sold it! A shame as I too had plans. There are some good books out there, check Amazon for used copies, always a bargin. Let me know if you need supplies of aquarium stuff as I have access to a good supplier
Now, aquascraping ponds, that's a whole new thing, I'm your man.

Maybe try hertfordshire fisheries? They are out towards St Albans.

Have a read of 'Nature Aquarium World' by Takashi Amano. I'm not too up to date with today's aqua culture but it's a great book even just to look at the pics
