Is there any quick fix to the peel on my bonnet? I've got touch up paint supplied by the previous owner.

No proper fix other than a respray.

What's the average price of that? Any places you recommend?

Thanks

There is no quick fix apart from respraying the area yourself (aka wheeler dealers) but that may look worse!

I have mopped back a few cars with lacquer peel. It does improve the look and stops further peel but it's a temporary fix.

The process is sand back lightly (wet and dry)
Mop
Polish
Wax

Should help things for another year.

Had the same problem on a previous coupe, only way to go is have it resprayed.

When resprayed, presumably the prep is to rub off all of the lacquer?
My roof needs doing but I can see I would either have to have the whole back end painted or the whole car?

It might be worth having a conversation with Joe at FCSS. My car had lacquer peel on one wing and I'm quite sure it was only relacqured over this area rather than repainted (all done well before my ownership started).

It's only noticeable now if you look quite closely and was done about three years ago.

There's a link on here somewhere, if I can find it I will post it up.

Hi mate to me it looks like the clear coat is lifting
All the mopping in the world will not get rid of it
In fact it will make it worse as the base coat is
Only thin needs a respray shame you far away
As i would have sprayed it for you .
