Next Wednesday, MrsC will be setting up and chairing a charity event on behalf of Oxfam in aid of Syria. This involves transporting a lot of art and other paraphernalia to St Ethelburgas, Bishopsgate, in the City of London, then removing what remains and taking it back to Cambridge afterwards (around midnight). As you know, we have the means of transport, but does anyone have the faintest idea where we might park a 17-seat high-roof minibus for about 10 hours on a Wednesday afternoon/evening that is walking distance from Bishopsgate?

I don't think you can take a Minibus that's older than 2006 into the congestion zone without fitting some kind of filter (dpf?) without getting a hefty charge.

I have a couple of suggestions... there is a car park at the south end of middlesex street that is under an old office building, very high roof, normally full of porsches.
Or head up towards Shoreditch, between Great eastern st and Shoreditch high st there are a few brownfield sites that charge a tenner a day of parking. Also, there is parking at the Old truman brewery, which has a high roof, it's in the indoor part where they have markets at the weekend. There is plenty of parking once you are out of the banking areas, but it is man in a shed cash in hand type of thing...

As our bus is registered as a private vehicle, not for hire, I'm hoping it won't incur too massive a charge, but that is a good point I hadn't even thought about. Thanks for the suggestions, Ben.

A quick call to TfL reveals that the minibus is registered as a bus and therefore is exempt from the congestion charge. Back o'the net!

Which means that (a) you can drive in the bus lanes and (b) that TfL have left lots of handy bus stops at the side of the road... the clue's in the name!
