doing bit more work on the coupe today

first job to paint front crossmember and spars area etc. had prev removed surface rust and treated. bloody paint reacted with the rust primer and bubbled. had to start from scratch

then to make the day even better, when fitting the exhaust manifold, i discovered a broken stud. it was well below the surface. drilled central hole to use a easy out. broke the easy out in the hole. what a session!

after that repair i proceeded to fit the manifold, only to break a stud myself. gonna drill it out fully and use a time sert this time. (already tentatively tried another easy out)

only good thing is that the engine is on the floor

but still a full day wasted!

I had a similar experience with a thermostat bolt recently.
Easy-outs are a waste of money. The don't work for sh*t!
