Hi there!

Kévin (27 years old) from France (Gironde).

This is my Blue Sprint 20vt after the purchase, on july 2012. It's a second hand and with 135000 kms (let you do the conversion in miles :-) )

It's my second 20vt (i've sadly crashed the first on a rainy accident) and after that, i tried a Porsche 944 S2. Such a good car but can't forget my first love... angel

So i've buy this Sprinty with the aim to make it as a trackday car but keep it usable on open road.

PS : for all my following posts : I'm sorry for my english!!! read banghead biglaugh

NB: The most part of refection kits come from BUDWEG, and are common with numerous FIAT or other brands cars.

20V Turbo front Brembo Caliper

For the Brembo calipers, you can find an expensive and incomplete Brembo original kit (with just two poor seals).

So i've used this complete kit (own everything except pistons).

- Fiat Turbo Coupe Brembo Caliper rebuild kit complete with seal kit - 2 calipers
- Fiat Turbo Coupe / Alfa GTV Brembo Caliper Pin & Spring Clip kit

The shop can be found on ebay :
Caprisport

Can be found from Biggred or Brakesparts on Ebay with only the seals(ref: BCK4218) or the pins and plates (ref BPF 5002)
Brakesparts

Pistons can be found under these ref: BCP4216 (42mm) et BCP3837 (38 mm) from BUDWEG.

Rear calipers (ALL MODELS)

BE CAREFUL! Two mounting exists :
GIRLING (until July 1996) et LUCAS (from July 1996):

The rear Lucas calipers uses 34mm pistons, common with the Modus Renault or Fiesta ST 150. laugh

I've order 2 kits (brakesparts.co.uk) cause i want to change my 2 pistons (worn and stripped after unmounting)

FORD FIESTA ST150 REAR BRAKE CALIPER REPAIR, REBUILD KIT - BUDWEG, BCR090A (LUCAS mount).

Two other kits exists at Biggred, with only the seals ( Biggred on Ebay.co.uk) : ref 3407 (Girling) and ref 3411 (Lucas).

Electric steering pump modification

Somes pics of the electrical steering pump. It's from a Citroen Saxo / Peugeot 106 Phase 2.

I've buy a used steering rack (from a 916 GTV, same ref)cause i've originally modify my rack to a 100% manual setup : way to hard at low speed!

So you need :

Hydraulic :
- 1x pump and OEM bracket (easy to find for 50 bucks),
- Approx. 0.8 meter of 12mm ID return hose
- Approx. 0.8 meter of 8 mm ID pressure hose (agricol crimp able hose)
- 1x banjo 16mm ID hydraulic connector with his M16x150 bolt (to fit 8 mm pressure hose / pump pressure side)
- 1x JIC 916 female hydraulic connector (to fit 8 mm pressure hose / rack pressure side, threaded on the following adapter)
- 1x hydraulic adapter JIC 916 male to M14x150 male thread (this connector fit the rack pressure side and is threaded to the female 916 JIC).
- 1x original return banjo 12 ID (cutted to fit the 12mm return hose) with his 12x150 banjo bolt.

- 1x Loctite 572 (thread sealant)
- Copper washers for the hydraulic connections

To make the pressure hose, the better way is to find an agricultural shop which made machine crimped hose. The pressure
raise near 100 bars
(let you convert in PSI beer) so don't play with hand crimped low pressure hose!

Electric :
- 1x 70 amp relay (a normal one will be too weak),
- 1x inline big fuse holder and 1x 60 amp fuse
- 2 meters of 8 mm² cable (to wire the pump and power side of the relay)
- 4 meters of 1 mm² cable (to wire the excitation of the relay from the D+ plug of the alternator)
- 1x inline fuse holder and 1x 2 amp fuse (to protect the excitation wire
- some connectors and sleeving.

I recommend this online shop, they have everything you need : Auto Electric supplies

My crimped connectors and hoses come from Berflex french company. It's an hydraulic specialist which made excellent quality products.
